About:
The ATLAS (Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software) project is an ongoing research effort focusing on applying empirical techniques in order to provide portable performance. It provides C and Fortran77 interfaces to a portably efficient BLAS implementation, as well as a few routines from LAPACK.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
A much more extensive testing capability was
added. Several missing symbols were added from a
full LAPACK build. *lamch are now compiled with no
optimization. Errors in arch default creation for
LAPACK defaults were fixed. A test in the LAPACK
build Makefile was changed to get around a Solaris
shell incompatibility. Architectural defaults were
added for LAPACK QR tuning for AMD64K10h32SSE3,
AMD64K10h64SSE3, PPCG564AltiVec, Core232SSE3, and
HAMMER64SSE3.
