MĘS (an MP3 Audio Entertainment System) is a set of Perl scripts which allow searching and streaming of MP3s over the net, using MySQL or PostgreSQL as the backend database. It has Mozilla sidebar integration, allows for multiple users, ID3v1.1 and v2 editing, and provides playlist generation and storage.

And a lot of times the main download is sketchy...so if it says there's a release, but it doesn't show up in the main download link, then try the secondary.

I don't announce every new version, but if it's the newest in the download areas, then get it. I usually release whenever a fix a halfway urgent, but don't always feel the need to plaster the front page of freshmeat with "MAES v.328938294239". A good example would be 20001129, which wasn't announced, but if you're planning on using the version before it without using cookies, well, sorry:)
